Scripture & Hymns

Trevor had this great idea this summer that we would teach the kids one hymn and then sing it as a special at church.  Well, that didn't happen!  I love the idea of my children learning worship songs.  We decided that we would pick one a month to learn together.  Then at some point this year we will sing one of the songs as a family at church.  We have also decided to memorize a passage of scripture each month.  I decided to write this blog post because I need the accountability.   Please do not ask my children what they are learning in math - but feel free to ask them to recite one of the scriptures we learned.  Here is the current list:

Hymns:

Victory in Jesus
Amazing Grace
Old Rugged Cross
Family of God
It is Well
How Great Thou Art
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Up From Grave He Arose
He Lives

Scripture:

Galatians 5:22
Exodus 20: 1-17
John 1:1
Luke 2:1-7
Ephesians 6: 12-18
Joshua 24:15
Matthew 5: 3:16-17
Psalm 23

  1. We must have a similar Hymnal. We song those songs often. We just got new much larger Hymnal at church recently.

  2. Let us know when you are going to sing so we can come!
