Geography 2019/2020

We are taking a different approach to geography this year.  It's always a subject I have struggled to keep up with.  I thought by adding a food element in it would help.

We have used eating around the world in the past.  We learn about a different country each week then cook a meal from that country.

One week out of the month our Universal Yums box comes.  This is something new we are trying this year.   So far we have enjoyed snacks from Austria and Greece.  It's been fun tasting new snacks.  The kids are excited to get a new box each month.  I love that it comes with fun facts about the country and a short history lesson.  Ask my kids about Austria's courting traditions, it's a funny story.

Then I have a few art books that have different projects from different countries.  Of course we also read a lot.  There are lots of online lists for books.  My favorite resource is Give Your Child the World by Jamie C. Martin.
