Even though words of affirmation is not my love language, I know it is for several people. Plus, who doesn't love getting mail. It's even more fun when it's addressed like this!
A hand written note takes time. In our technology driven society "real" mail has become old fashioned. I have always been an encourager. When I look back at my childhood dreams of being a cheerleader, I see that even that is because I love to encourage others. What better way than screaming good job from the side lines?
I started out the year strong; a note a week was a piece of cake. By the end of February I was starting to get concerned. Do I even know 52 people? Can I send the same person a note more than once? By May I had decided there was no way I would reach my goal but continued to send notes when I felt led to. Then I saw this book on good reads.

It has been a game changer!
The book is written by a master calligrapher. I left the book with a new passion for note writing. It really is a lost art. The book gives step by step instructions on how to write a note. She gives tons of reasons to send notes. I loved the historical quotes throughout the book! Because I'm a huge fan of Gone with the Wind, I enjoyed this piece of information. Margaret Mitchell never wrote a second book partly because she spent her time answering every fan letter she received!
Since reading the book I've more than caught up on my goal. Writing a note a week has become a breeze. My first thought when I start to send an email or Facebook message is, can this be sent in a handwritten note? If the answer is yes, which it isn't always, I send a note. Modern technology is super convenient and some times necessary.
I think the biggest problem I have now is finding addresses. People no longer have landlines. I don't have a phone book to go looking for addresses! That's my plea for help! If you would love to receive a note from me - you're going to have to send me your snail mail address. You can email it to me at Tbs7100@yahoo.com

I challenge you to take the time to write a hand written note. Not only will it bless the person who receives the note, but you will experience the joy of knowing you put a smile on someone's face that day!
