Asher Turns 5
I always let the kids pick the theme for their party. This year Asher really wanted a hobbit birthday party. For those of you that are unfamiliar, a hobbit is a character in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings series. Our family is a big fan of the books and movies. The only problem is most of Asher's friends are girls. After sending out the invitation I had to explain the theme to most of our guests. Asher requested lots of food, a Smaug cake, and 2 games. It was so windy that evening at the park we were unable to play either of his games. One was throwing insects into Shelobs' web and the other was wrapping a child up in silk (toilet paper), like Frodo. He was a little disappointed we didn't play the games. I think he still had a fun time. This was one of my favorite parties to plan. Here are a few pictures of the evening!
